Richard (Billy) William Erickson, age 24, S.S. Whale, lost at sea 29/03/1943.

 

Leonard Erickson, age 20, S.S. Empire Hawksbill, 19/07/1942

 

William Leeming,son of rosemary & William Leeming of Birkenhead, S.S Ceramic (Torpedoed),lost at sea, 07-12-1942.

Brown,Samuel Alexander,born/1828 Kent, England - Merchant Navy. Drowned in the Bay of Biscay, date of death unknown, Vessel unknown.

 

Lamb,Harold James. Born 27 March 1916. Final voyage was on the "S.S Herland", which sank of the Nore Light Vessel on 07 November 1940.

HAROLD ARHTUR EXLEY was drowned in the Java Sea,October 1936 when the Van Der Wijck capsized in a calm sea.

 

HUGHES,Herbert,Second Mate, S.S. Turnbridge,died on Saturday, 7th July 1917 age 38.

James Lally was lost at sea when the Empress of Ireland sank on the 29th May 1914.

 

John Ryan (Fireman/Stoker),born in Liverpool on the 20th December,on board a ship called CLIFTONHALL. Killed on the 14th March 1923

 

TUDOR EVANS,Chief Officer,S.S. Empire Hawksbill, Sunday 19 July 1942 . Age 49 .

Geoffrey Lucas Jackson , M.V. California Star, Blue Star Line ,torpedoed March 4 / 1943 , by U-515 .32 years young, British .

 

Brinley Gordon Lewis, S.S. Bullmouth, died age 19, 29/10/1942. Was torpedoed and damaged by U-409 and then finally sunk by U-659.

 

John James Lancaster. Who died Friday, 12th June 1942 on board S.S Hardwicke Grange near Bermuda.

 

Leslie Maddison served on S. S. Ceramic as a steward. The Ceramic was torpedoed off the Azores in 1942.

 

Charles Alexander Jones, Messman, Age 16 years, MV Lise Norwegian Tanker, Torpedoed by U-69, 12 may 1942

 

Angus Bannerman Robertson, Apprentice, Age 16 years, served on the Empire Comet, torpedoed on the 17th February 1942 by U-146 in the Atlantic Ocean.

 

Thomas Coffey, Able Seaman , S.S. Formby, sunk by the German Uboat, U62 off the coast of Wicklow, Ireland on December 16, 1917.

 

Thomas McGuire, Boatswain (Bosun) , S.S. Ashcrest , sunk by the German Uboat U140 about 60 miles west of Northern Ireland in the Atlantic, on December 9, 1940.

 

Mamert Stankiewicz, Captain, Polish aged 58, stayed aboard M/S Pilsudski, when it hit German mines off the Tyne in the early hours of 26th November 1939, in order to supervise the evacuation of his crew. Subsequently rescued after two hours in the water in heavy seas but died shortly thereafter as the result of exposure and hypothermia.

 

Nicholas John Macwilliam, "Special Operations" S.S Chant 8 MERCHANT NAVY. He was drowned whilst the ship was in port.

 

Michael Kerr Hodge torpedoed and damaged by u409 Oct 29 1942 and sunk by torpedo from u659 on the 30th Oct 1942 off the African coast He was Scottish and aged 24. His ship was a tanker M V Bullmouth.

Gordon John Singleton "Cabin Boy aged 17 " lost at sea 13th.March 1943, S.S.Marcella. Convoy OS44

 

ANASTACIOUS COCALLIS,lost at sea on the 22/10/1939, SS. WHITEMANTLE (1,692t)

Edward Leonard Barrow,lost at sea on the 11/4/1943, merchant ship s.s. runo, sadly missed by his only son frank.

Thomas Edward Martin ,lost at sea on the 01/03/1917, merchant ship, S/S Drina, he left a wife and two little girls.
