About This Site.

Welcome to The Merchant Navy Memorial, I originally set up this site back in 2004 as a tribute to my Great Grand Father, who was killed in the first World War.

This site is in tribute to A.B Seaman William Christopher Fielding ( my Great Grand Father who lost his life on board the S.S South Western) and the Merchant Navy Sea Men who lost their lives in both World Wars, although this site revolves around my Great Grand Father, his vessel and the First World War Merchant men and the history of that time, you will also find on the Merchant Seamen Lost At Sea page, some tributes to Merchant Seamen of both World Wars, and this is being added to as of when I receive updates from visitors to this memorial site.

Below is a quick run through of what you can find on this memorial website.

Research Data Bases.
We have added a database section where you can do a search for relatives that have served in both World Wars. Just go to our database page to start your search. Or search a Vessels name. This is still in a state of construction so please be patient. We will add more databases as we come across them.
